Would you like to visit a traditional, authentic “Kahvehane” where old people play board games eachother for hours and drink turkish tea? Would you like to join them?

-Visit a very local part of the city, Kadıköy and be a local Istanbuler for a few hours.
-Learn to play traditional Kahvehane games (Turkish rumicub/mahjong and backgamon)
-Watch how professional old people play it eachother.
-Drink turkish black tea, kiwi tea or Turkish coffee as other locals.
-Visit 3 different “Kahvehanes” in a local neighbourhood.
-Learn about the history of Ottoman Coffeehouses
-Learn about the history of rumicub/mahjong like games

I learned how to play these games while I was 6-8 years old in my hometown with my grandparents. My grandfather used to spend his spare time in a “Kahvehane” to play these games with his friends. In home I used to watch my grandparents play it together. During my highschool times I was in “Kahvehane”s to play it with my own friends. Now I love teaching and playing all of these traditional games with people who are interested inlocal games. Let’s play and drink!
