Hüseyin Ürkmez is Turkey’s only traditional rowing athlete. He traveled to Padua, Italy — a city founded by people from Bartın — and rowed for 122 days across the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas to reach his hometown. He undertakes overseas rowing journeys and once recreated a voyage inspired by the legendary Trojan War, traveling to Padua for this purpose.
